With mentions as “Sweden’s best rock voice” in daily press and worldwide recognition Mia Karlsson made an impact during her almost two decades as leadsinger and guitarist in the Swedish rockband Crucified Barbara. The band released 4 studio albums and toured all over Europe, USA and Brasil before the split in 2016.
After a long break from the music scene due to burnout Mia is finally back in the limelight again and with more inspiration than ever. It’s time to explore new musical paths in the style of singer/songwriter and americana. With an acoustic foundation there is now room for more dynamic vocals and songwriting. Expressing herself through music and lyrics has been a valve ever since Mia was a teenager. With her strong voice and stage presence Mia has over the years gained a reputation of being an artist to count on, and now it’s time to embark a new musical journey as a solo artist and songwriter.
Partnering with Ninetone and producer Pontus Frisk, Mia’s debut solo album has been recorded during spring/summer 2024 in Sundsvall, Sweden. The first single is a cover of John Hiatt song Nothing In My Heart and will be released September 6th.
