From burnt-out rock star to debuting solo singer/songwriter
After a long break from the music scene, Mia Karlsson is back, recovered from burnout and with new inspiration and a solo debut. The music is singer/songwriter and Americana-inspired, and in this long-awaited solo project, Mia gets the opportunity to showcase a new musical breadth and songwriting in a more stripped-down format. With personal and emotional lyrics and a voice that wanders between power and vulnerability, the so far released singles have received a warm reception from listeners, and have also been noticed by Rolling Stone Magazine in France.
The debut album is produced by Pontus Frisk & 10 Feet and released on Ninetone on April 11, 2025. Mia is best known to the rock audience as Coldheart; singer and guitarist in the hard rock band Crucified Barbara, but now it’s time for new musical adventures as a solo artist and singer/songwriter under his own name.
Since the first single release in September 2024, Mia and her acoustic guitar have already managed a five-week European tour as support act for The Gems. In addition to frequent liveshows around Sweden during 2024, she has previously toured England as a solo artist, as well as opening for Tony Joe White and Wishbone Ash in France.
